<image:caption>Some cafés in Hongdae try to be futuristic. Susanghan Bagel feels like it belongs in a small European town instead. The first thing noticeable isn’t the bagels. It’s the building itself. A slightly old-fashioned façade, stone exterior walls, soft yellow lights strung across the upper floor, and a wooden sign that simply reads “Susanghan Bagel.” It doesn’t look trendy. It looks inviting. And that’s the difference.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The first thing that catches attention is the brownies. Not because they’re massive. Not because they’re stacked high. But because each brownie has a little marshmallow character sitting on top — with a yellow “hair” swirl, tiny chocolate-dot eyes, and a red nose. They look like tiny edible snowmen or cartoon figures. The sign next to them reads “나는야 멋쟁이 제임스” — roughly translating to something like “I’m Cool Guy James.” It’s playful. It has personality. This isn’t a factory café. This is a place that enjoys making people smile. And that matters.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Then there are the strawberry cream bagels. Round, soft buns split in half, filled generously with whipped cream and fresh strawberries, topped with powdered sugar and cherries. They look like miniature celebration cakes more than simple bread. The strawberries are bright red. The cream is thick and clean. The presentation is deliberate. They don’t feel rushed. They feel assembled with attention. In a city full of hyper-minimal cafés, this kind of cozy abundance stands out.</image:caption>

It’s the kind of place you end up in because you’re tired, overstimulated, or halfway through a long day of walking and you just need somewhere calm to sit down. Located near Namdaemun Market, Hoehyeon Station, and within easy reach of Myeongdong, Pirultz Coffee House benefits from being right in the middle of everything without feeling like it belongs to the chaos around it. <image:title>Cafes - HAZ Bakery Seongsu Review: My Honest Experience</image:title>
<image:caption>Seongsu has a talent for turning the simplest things into a full-blown event. Coffee becomes a pilgrimage. Bread becomes a lifestyle. A “quick snack” somehow turns into a 40-minute detour with a camera roll full of pastries. And that’s exactly how I ended up at HAZ Bakery (하츠베이커리) in Seongsu. If you’ve been around Seongsu lately, you’ve probably seen people walking around clutching bakery bags like it’s luxury shopping. HAZ Bakery is one of those places that sits right in the middle of the neighborhood’s cafe-hopping circuit and quietly dominates with one thing: bread that looks good enough to start problems. I visited HAZ Bakery Seongsu and tried two items: their regular salt bread their Rocher Dubai cream bagel Here’s my full experience, what stood out, what I’d recommend, and what you should know before you go.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - HAZ Bakery Seongsu Review: My Honest Experience</image:title>
<image:caption>The reason HAZ Bakery works so well in Seongsu is because it fits the neighborhood’s rhythm. Seongsu isn’t really about doing one big thing. It’s about bouncing around: one bakery one coffee stop one boutique one random pop-up store and then somehow you’ve walked 18,000 steps HAZ Bakery is a strong stop in that kind of day because: the selection is huge the baked goods are visually impressive the vibe is cozy and you can mix classics (salt bread) with trend items (Dubai cream flavors) It doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard. It’s just confidently good.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - I’m donut? Seongsu Review: The Viral Japanese Donut Shop, now in Seoul!</image:title>
<image:caption>Seongsu is basically Seoul’s official neighborhood for people who love three things: minimal interiors, long lines, and pretending they “just discovered” a place that’s already viral. And now, it has another certified crowd magnet: I’m donut? (아임도넛). If you’ve been seeing shiny glazed donuts all over social media and wondering what the hype is about, here’s the key detail a lot of people miss: I’m donut? didn’t start in Korea. It originated in Japan. The brand became famous for its ultra-soft, light, and moist donuts, often described as “nama donuts” (meaning fresh/raw-style donuts). And after taking Japan by storm, it expanded abroad, including a highly talked-about arrival in Seongsu, Seoul. I visited I’m donut? Seongsu to see what it’s really like inside, what the donuts taste like, what to order, and whether it’s worth your time (and your sugar tolerance). Here’s the full experience.</image:caption>

<image:caption>1) Glazed Donut This one is a must-try if it’s your first visit. The glaze is light and smooth, not overly thick, and the donut itself is soft and airy. You get that “nama donut” bounce right away. It’s the kind of donut that’s best eaten fresh, ideally within minutes, not after carrying it around Seongsu like a souvenir. 2) Matcha Donut The green tea donut ball was coated in matcha powder, and it’s a great choice if you want something less sugary than the cream-filled ones. Matcha flavor: slightly earthy mildly bitter balanced with sweetness Not intense ceremonial matcha, but still satisfying.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - Dotori Garden Anguk Review : Is it really worth the hype?</image:title>
<image:caption>Dotori Garden in Anguk is one of those cafés in Seoul that looks like it was made for Pinterest. The moment you arrive, you can tell why it went viral — the hand-drawn sign outside, the cozy “storybook house” vibe, and the little mascot character that shows up everywhere like it’s part of a themed world. From the outside alone, it already feels like a photo spot. There’s a big illustrated board that says DOTORI GARDEN, tiny menu boards, greenery everywhere, and this calm neighborhood atmosphere that makes the whole place feel like a hidden gem. It’s exactly the type of café that fits perfectly into an Anguk day out, especially if you’re already visiting nearby hanok streets. But after trying it myself… I have to be honest: it’s cute, but it’s overpriced, and not worth the queue.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - Dotori Garden Anguk Review : Is it really worth the hype? - My Honest Take: The Yogurt Bowl Isn’t Worth 18,500 KRW</image:title>
<image:caption>The one thing I have to mention is the yogurt bowl — 18,500 KRW. It’s cute, it photographs beautifully, and it’s basically made for that “Anguk café day” vibe. You get the whole visual moment: glossy berries, crunchy granola, a drizzle of syrup, and even a little honeycomb on top. It looks luxurious in photos, but once you actually eat it, the experience doesn’t match the price tag. For nearly 20,000 won, I expected something more filling, more special, or at least unforgettable in taste. Instead, it felt like a very standard yogurt bowl dressed up to look premium — the kind of thing you can find in Seoul for way less, just without the crowd and the hype. If you’re here purely for the aesthetic, you’ll probably be satisfied. But if you’re hungry and you care about value, this is the exact kind of menu item that makes Dotori Garden feel more like a photo spot first, café second.</image:caption>

<image:caption>If you’ve been scrolling through Seoul café content lately, you’ve probably noticed one thing: everyone is obsessed with desserts that feel both nostalgic and brand-new at the same time. And when I finally made my way to Pound Market in Mangwon (파운드마켓), I immediately understood why it’s been getting so much attention. Pound Market is a cozy bakery spot in Mangwon-dong, Seoul, and it’s especially known for one signature menu that people go out of their way for: scoopable scones. Not the classic crumbly “dry with tea” kind of scone — I’m talking about rich, creamy, spoonable desserts that look like they belong in a dessert cup rather than a bakery tray. If you’re looking for a café experience that’s a little different from the usual “pretty latte + cake slice” routine, this place is worth putting on your list.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Some cafés in Seoul are loud in the best way — trendy, bright, packed, full of people taking photos and rushing to the next stop. And then there are cafés like ZAMSI (잠시), the kind of place that quietly steals your heart because it feels like someone built it for one purpose: To let you breathe for a moment. I visited ZAMSI Café & Shop in Seoul, and it was one of the most comforting little spaces I’ve walked into lately. From the outside, it looks like a tiny wooden cabin sitting in the city. Inside, it feels like a warm, slightly mysterious hideout — filled with handmade details, soft lighting, small treasures, and even a sleepy cat resting by the window like it owns the place (because it probably does). If you’re looking for a unique café in Seoul that feels genuinely personal, here’s my experience — based on what I saw, ate, and loved.</image:caption>

The outside also looks a bit like a small cabin café, with dark walls and a warm wooden door. <image:title>Cafes - Casa Bellaz Hongdae: Spanish-Style Churros & Coffee in a Quiet Corner Near Hongdae</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’ve spent enough time around Hongdae, you’ll know that most dessert spots fall into two extremes: aggressively trendy cafés packed with people taking photos, or quick street snacks you eat standing up and forget five minutes later. Casa Bellaz sits comfortably in between those two worlds—and that’s exactly why it stood out to me. Tucked away near Hapjeong, Casa Bellaz doesn’t scream for attention. No neon signs, no viral gimmicks plastered everywhere. Instead, it quietly promises one thing: proper Spanish-style churros and coffee, done with care. After visiting, I can say this is the kind of place you remember not because it tried too hard, but because it didn’t.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - Dubai Chewy Cookie (두바이 쫀득쿠키) : What It Is, Why It’s Everywhere, and How the Trend Took Off</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’ve seen it online, you already know the routine: someone slices a cocoa-dusted ball, the inside looks glossy and rich, you hear the crunch, and then the center stretches in a way that’s basically engineered for short-form video. That dessert is 두바이 쫀득쿠키 (dubai jjeonduk-cookie), usually shortened to 두쫀쿠 (du-jjeon-ku). Despite the word “cookie,” what’s trending in Korea right now is not a baked cookie. It’s a ball-shaped dessert built around a chewy marshmallow shell and a crunchy, nutty filling—then finished with cocoa powder for that “truffle” look. This post breaks down: what Dubai Chewy Cookie actually is (based on how it’s being made and described), the exact ingredient logic behind the trend, how the viral Dubai chocolate wave turned into Korea’s latest obsession, and why it keeps spreading (including the controversies).</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - Dubai Chewy Cookie (두바이 쫀득쿠키) : What It Is, Why It’s Everywhere, and How the Trend Took Off - So popular that it has its own map?</image:title>
<image:caption>The popularity of 두바이쫀득쿠키(두쫀쿠) has grown to the point where it is no longer just discovered through individual café posts. In Korea, user-curated maps now circulate online showing which cafés sell dubai chewy cookie, reflecting how actively people search for it by location rather than definition. Searches such as “두쫀쿠 지도 (dubai chewy cookie map)” have become common, indicating that the dessert has moved into a destination-based trend stage, where limited daily batches and frequent sell-outs make crowdsourced maps the most practical way to track availability. <image:title>Cafes - Beton (베통) Seoul : The Best Salt Bread in the City?</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’ve spent any time looking up salt bread in Seoul, chances are you’ve seen the name Beton come up again and again. Beton is one of those bakeries that quietly turned into a phenomenon—especially its Seongsu location, where queues of one to two hours during peak times are not unusual. So when I found out there was a Beton inside Shinsegae Department Store (Gangnam) with no queue, I went in with realistic expectations: curious, slightly skeptical, and very aware of the hype. This post is an honest take. Short version? Good, well-made salt bread that’s easy to enjoy—but not life-changing. And honestly, that’s not a bad thing.</image:caption>

Soft pinks, mint greens, rounded shapes, and oversized character visuals immediately separate it from regular cafés. Once inside, the space opens up into a storybook-like setting: Tree-shaped central tables Character stools with My Melody, Kuromi, and friends Soft lighting that flatters photos Walls filled with illustrated scenes It feels playful, gentle, and intentionally childlike — but in a polished way that still appeals to adults.</image:caption>

I visited out of pure curiosity. Not because I’m a hardcore Sanrio collector, but because this place is impossible to ignore—and because Myeongdong is exactly the kind of area where cafés either feel magical or painfully touristy. So here’s the honest answer upfront (for skimmers): Yes, it’s worth visiting—if you like cute interiors, photo spots, and themed desserts. No, it’s not about gourmet coffee or refined pastries. And yes, you’ll want your phone fully charged. Now let me walk you through the experience properly—floor by floor.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - Music Complex Seoul (뮤직컴플렉스 서울): Vinyl Cafe located in the Heart of Seoul</image:title>
<image:caption>There are places in Seoul that feel exciting the moment you step inside—and then there are places that quietly pull you in and make you forget time altogether. Music Complex Seoul belongs firmly to the second category. I visited Music Complex Seoul without many expectations, just knowing that it was a vinyl-focused listening bar in Insadong. What I didn’t expect was how immersive the experience would be, or how different it would feel from the usual café or bar stops that fill most Seoul itineraries. This isn’t a place you rush through. It’s a place you settle into. If you enjoy music—even casually—this is one of those spots that feels genuinely special.</image:caption>

<image:caption>If you’re exploring Seongsu-dong and looking for something that feels both nostalgic and modern, Bontemps Seongsu is a stop worth making. Known for reinventing 꽈베기 (Kkwabegi, Korean twisted donuts) with a contemporary, almost European-style café aesthetic, Bontemps has quickly become one of Seongsu’s most photographed dessert spots. This isn’t just a donut shop. It’s a place where childhood snacks meet design-forward branding, playful details, and café culture—done in a way that still respects the simplicity of the original kkwabegi.</image:caption>

Bontemps serves drinks with a heart-shaped straw, a playful detail that: Adds charm to an otherwise minimal drink Shows attention to experience, not just food Makes even iced coffee feel “special” It’s a subtle branding choice, but one that people remember (and photograph).</image:caption>

I ordered: Dubai Chewy Cookie Salted Caramel Financier Iced Americano The cookie arrives looking deceptively simple: a round, cocoa-dusted exterior, slightly rustic, sitting in a paper cup. No garnish. No drama. But the weight gives it away.</image:caption>

<image:caption>During the Christmas season, 1020 Room feels especially warm and inviting. A softly lit Christmas tree and small festive details are placed throughout the café, adding a seasonal touch without overwhelming the space. The decorations blend naturally with the wooden tables and neutral interior, keeping the focus on the desserts rather than the décor. Compared to the loud, crowded Christmas setups around Myeongdong, the atmosphere here feels calm and understated. With a coffee and a Dubai chewy cookie in hand, it’s an easy place to slow down and enjoy the season quietly.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - ETF Bakery (ETF 베이커리) : 990 won Salt Bread in Seoul? - 1. What is ETF Bakery, Really?</image:title>
<image:caption>At its core, ETF Bakery is a bakery brand with an overt twist: it started as a pop-up concept that aimed to sell high-quality bread at shockingly low prices. The name itself — “ETF” — hints at financial metaphors like Exchange Traded Fund, suggesting bread should be accessible, transparent, and efficient like a financial product. It first hit public consciousness not as a normal bakery opening but as an experimental pop-up in Seoul’s trendy Seongsu area. The pop-up offered breads — most famously the 990 won 소금빵 (salt bread) — at prices far below what people were used to seeing, leading to massive lines, viral social media posts, and intense debate about bakery pricing in Korea. The project’s goals were stated simply: Provide high-quality bakery items at reasonable prices Challenge the narrative of unnecessarily expensive bread Create a brand that more people could enjoy without breaking the bank But its execution didn’t stay purely academic. It got real: long lines, big crowds, social discussion, and actual bread in people’s hands.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - Bakery Agoong (베이커리 아궁): A Warm Bakery Experience Near the busy Myeongdong Streets</image:title>
<image:caption>Seoul is filled with bakeries and cafés, but every now and then you find a place that feels more meaningful than the rest. On the list of cafes I visited recently, that place was Bakery Agoong (베이커리 아궁) — a cozy Korean bakery located in Jongno, not far from the busy streets of Myeongdong. I walked in expecting a simple pastry stop, but left feeling like I had stumbled onto a hidden piece of Seoul’s warmth and culture. If you’re searching for a Korean bakery near Myeongdong, a calm café in Jongno, or just a place to enjoy genuinely good bread that feels connected to Korean tradition, Agoong is worth adding to your itinerary. This is my full experience.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cafes - Bakery Agoong (베이커리 아궁): A Warm Bakery Experience Near the busy Myeongdong Streets - The Story Behind the Name “Agoong (아궁)”</image:title>
<image:caption>The charm of this bakery starts with its name. “Agoong” comes from “agungi” (아궁이) — the traditional Korean hearth fire. It was the warm center of the home where meals cooked, warmth spread, and families gathered. The “agungi” wasn’t just a heat source; it was a symbol of comfort, togetherness, and everyday life. Bakery Agoong uses that cultural memory as its concept: warmth coziness abundance community The moment you step inside, this theme becomes obvious. The interior isn’t minimal or cold. It feels lived-in, welcoming, and intentionally Korean — not in a touristy way, but in a nostalgic, cultural way. In a city full of cafés trying to look Western, Agoong proudly leans into Korean heritage.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Haemok Seochon: Trying Michelin-Rated Japanese Eel Rice Bowl Near Gyeongbokgung</image:title>
<image:caption>Seochon is one of those neighborhoods in Seoul that feels calm even when the rest of the city is busy. Just west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the area is filled with narrow alleys, hanok houses, quiet cafés, and a handful of restaurants that locals genuinely love. One place that kept appearing whenever I searched for eel rice in Seoul was Haemok Seochon. Known for its Nagoya-style hitsumabushi — grilled eel served over rice and eaten in several different ways — it’s one of the most talked-about eel restaurants in Seoul. So during a recent visit to Seochon, we decided to try it ourselves. I ordered the normal size hitsumabushi, while my companion went for the larger 특 (special) size, which comes with noticeably more eel.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Haemok Seochon: Trying Michelin-Rated Japanese Eel Rice Bowl Near Gyeongbokgung - First Impressions: A Quiet Restaurant in Seochon</image:title>
<image:caption>From the outside, Haemok doesn’t look flashy. The building is minimal and understated, with the restaurant name written simply on the wall. Inside, the atmosphere feels calm and warm. Wooden counters, soft lighting, and simple table settings give it a Japanese restaurant feel without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the meal rather than rush through it. The seating arrangement is mostly counter seating and tables, making it comfortable whether you’re visiting alone or with friends. One thing I appreciated immediately was how organized everything felt — from the chopsticks wrapped neatly in branded paper sleeves to the trays used for serving the hitsumabushi set.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Haemok Seochon: Trying Michelin-Rated Japanese Eel Rice Bowl Near Gyeongbokgung - A View of a Small Garden</image:title>
<image:caption>Our seats happened to face a small courtyard visible through a wooden window. Outside, there was a quiet garden with a small tree and carefully placed stones. The view added a peaceful feeling to the meal, almost like sitting in a traditional house rather than a restaurant. Seochon has a lot of spaces like this where modern restaurants blend with traditional Korean architecture, and Haemok captures that atmosphere well. It’s a small detail, but it made the dining experience feel more relaxed.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Haemok Seochon: Trying Michelin-Rated Japanese Eel Rice Bowl Near Gyeongbokgung - How to Eat Hitsumabushi</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’ve never had hitsumabushi before, the restaurant actually explains how to eat it. The dish is traditionally eaten in four steps, which makes the experience more interesting than a normal rice bowl. First, you eat the eel and rice on its own to appreciate the original flavor. Second, you add condiments like scallions, seaweed, or wasabi to change the flavor slightly. Third, you pour the hot broth over the eel and rice to create ochazuke, turning the dish into a comforting soup. Fourth, you eat the final portion whichever way you liked best. This method turns a simple rice bowl into a small culinary experience.</image:caption>

Tucked near Sangsu Station, just outside the busiest Hongdae streets, this small taqueria delivers bold flavors, comforting soups, and a surprisingly easy ordering system that makes it especially welcoming for solo diners. Bright yellow signage reading “WON TACOS” stands out against the narrow alley facade. The moment the red-framed door opens, the space feels playful and intimate. <image:caption>Seongsu has no shortage of stylish cafés and concept restaurants, but every now and then, what’s needed isn’t aesthetic coffee or curated brunch. It’s a bowl of ramen that feels serious. That’s exactly what Ramura in Seongsu delivers. Tucked away near Seongsu Station, Ramura doesn’t scream for attention from the outside. The right door, a simple wooden sign, and a warm light above the entrance hint at something understated. Inside, it’s focused. Quiet. Intentional. This is not a chaotic ramen shop. It’s built for people who came to eat properly. <image:title>Restaurants - Ramura Ramen Seongsu Review: The Chicken Ramen Spot That’s Perfect for Solo Dining</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the first things noticeable upon sitting down is the tablet on the counter. Ramura uses T-order, a self-ordering system that lets customers browse the full menu, customize their ramen, and pay directly at the table. No awkward waiting. No calling staff over. No language barrier stress. For visitors in Seoul, this makes a big difference. The screen displays photos of each ramen variation, pricing, and options clearly. It’s straightforward and efficient. Payment is done directly through the system, making the entire experience smooth. For solo diners especially, this setup feels comfortable. There’s no pressure, no unnecessary interaction. Just order, pay, and wait for your bowl.</image:caption>

<image:caption>On the counter sits a traditional pot filled with kimchi. No small side dish. No rationed portion. A full pot that diners can scoop from freely. The kimchi is bright, slightly spicy, and refreshing against the deep, savory broth. Taking extra is encouraged. That simple self-serve detail adds warmth to the experience. It feels casual but generous. It also pairs perfectly with the chicken ramen, cutting through the richness and resetting the palate between bites.</image:caption>

<image:caption>There are food experiences that impress you — and then there are food experiences that stay with you long after you’ve left the city. Geumdwaeji Sikdang in Seoul is firmly in the second category. Located near Yaksu Station in Jung-gu, Geumdwaeji Sikdang (금돼지식당) is a Korean BBQ restaurant that has become legendary among locals and visitors alike. It’s famous for thick, juicy cuts of pork, classic samgyeopsal, and a style of grilling that feels timeless and authentic. On top of that, it’s one of the few Bib Gourmand recipients in the Michelin Guide Seoul, meaning critics agree it’s not just good — it’s good value for the quality you get. From Michelin recognition to celebrity buzz and serious lines down the street, here’s my full travel story — from the moment I joined a queue to the last perfect bite of grilled pork belly.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Geumdwaeji Sikdang Seoul: Michelin-Rated Korean BBQ Spot visited by BTS, EXO, G-Dragon and even Kanye - The Menu: Pork Cuts Done Right</image:title>
<image:caption>Once my table opened up, I sat down in a room that felt lively and casual — the way a neighborhood go-to should feel. The assumption with Korean BBQ is usually pork belly, and yes, that’s a highlight here. But what sets Geumdwaeji Sikdang apart is the quality of the meat and the care in how it’s served. Locals don’t just order one cut; they order multiple. Thick slices of: Samgyeopsal (pork belly) Moksal (pork neck) Each piece glistens before the grill. When it hits the heat, the fat renders slowly, and you can see why people rave about it. Grilling is a performance — the staff expertly flip and sear the meat so that every side is caramelized but not charred. The pork stays juicy, and the texture stays tender. Even as a self-proclaimed BBQ lover, I found myself watching every moment and savoring every bite more deeply than I expected.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Uchujin Ramen Euljiro: Where Locals Line Up for Japanese Ramen in Seoul</image:title>
<image:caption>Euljiro is not where most people expect to find a standout ramen shop. Known more for its old printing alleys, tool stores, and industrial buildings, the area feels practical and gritty rather than food-forward. That’s exactly why Uchujin Ramen stands out. It doesn’t try to blend in with trends or aesthetics. It simply focuses on doing ramen well, and locals clearly know it. I arrived at 11:55 a.m., just five minutes before opening, and there was already a line forming outside. Not tourists checking Google Maps, but office workers and regulars who clearly knew the routine. <image:title>Restaurants - Sim Kyunghee’s LA LA LAND (심경희의 라라랜드) Review: Retro LA Galbi in Seoul</image:title>
<image:caption>Some restaurants in Seoul feel like they were built for Instagram — perfectly styled, perfectly plated, and honestly… a little too polished. But every now and then, you walk into a place that feels like it has its own history, its own personality, and zero interest in trends. That’s exactly the vibe at Sim Kyunghee’s LA LA LAND (심경희의 라라랜드). From the moment you see the huge sign outside that says “Since 1963”, you already know you’re not walking into a new “hot spot.” You’re walking into a restaurant that’s been around long enough to become a memory for a lot of people. And once I stepped inside, it genuinely felt like I entered a different era of Seoul — the kind that doesn’t really exist anymore unless you actively go looking for it. This is my experience at Sim Kyunghee’s LA LA LAND, what I ate, what stood out, and why I think it’s one of the most interesting old-school Korean restaurants I’ve visited.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Sim Kyunghee’s LA LA LAND (심경희의 라라랜드) Review: Retro LA Galbi in Seoul - The Interior: Old-School Seoul in the Best Way</image:title>
<image:caption>Once you walk inside, the vibe is fully committed. It’s not minimalist, it’s not sleek, and it’s definitely not trying to be modern. Instead, it feels like a classic Korean restaurant that time forgot — warm lighting, solid wooden tables, and a very “retro Korean family dinner” atmosphere. One detail I noticed immediately was the open, spacious seating layout. It’s not cramped, and there’s something comforting about how straightforward it feels. No complicated design gimmicks, no curated corners — just a proper dining space built for people to sit down and eat. Even the background details (like the TV playing) add to that nostalgic energy. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine coworkers coming after work, or families celebrating something simple like a birthday without making it a big production. If you’re someone who loves Seoul for its hidden, older spots — the places that feel real — this interior will hit.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - GEGE by Chef Nam Joon-young: A Nostalgic Chinese-Korean Meal That Feels Intentionally Old-School</image:title>
<image:caption>Some places don’t try to impress you the moment you walk in. GEGE (게게) is one of those places. From the outside, it almost feels like you’ve stumbled into a leftover corner of another era — worn signage, mismatched colors, and the kind of exterior that makes you pause and wonder if you’re in the right place. But that hesitation disappears the moment you sit down and the food starts arriving. GEGE, led by Chef Nam Joon-young, isn’t about chasing trends or plating food for social media. It’s about recreating a very specific feeling: the comfort, chaos, and depth of old-school Chinese-Korean dining, filtered through a modern chef’s understanding of balance and flavor. And judging from the first bite alone, that intention comes through clearly.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Ggupdang Seongsu (꿉당 성수) Review: Michelin Bib Gourmand Korean BBQ combining Caviar + K-BBQ</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’re looking for a Korean BBQ experience in Seoul that feels modern, premium, and slightly insane (in a good way), Ggupdang Seongsu (꿉당 성수) is the spot. This is one of Seongsu’s most talked-about pork BBQ restaurants, and it’s not just internet hype — Ggupdang is listed on the Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant. I went in expecting great pork. What I didn’t expect was how much the meal would turn into a full-on luxury BBQ moment — thick cuts of pork, serious marbling, charcoal grilling, and the kind of bite that makes you stop mid-chew because it tastes too expensive to be real: pork + rice + seaweed + caviar + wasabi. Yes, caviar. With Korean BBQ. And it worked. This blog is based on my visit and photos — the meat, the caviar tin, the truffle noodles, and the exact way I ate the most unforgettable bite of the night.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Most Korean BBQ spots serve pork belly as thin or medium-thickness strips. But when my pork arrived at Ggupdang, I immediately noticed something: This was not “normal” pork belly. In my photos, the meat is cut thick with visible layers of fat and lean, and the marbling looks clean and glossy — the kind that promises a juicy bite once the fat renders properly. The texture of the pork before grilling already tells you a lot: the fat cap is thick, not dry the lean meat looks fresh and dense the cut feels intentional, not mass-sliced This style is built for one thing: maximum juiciness.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Jjapagetti with a huge mound of shaved truffle and cheese-like snow on top could also be considered the star of the show. It looks like a pasta dish that wandered into a Korean BBQ restaurant and decided to flex. The noodles are glossy and coated, and the truffle topping is generous — not “two flakes for decoration.” It’s enough to change the entire smell of the table. Why This Works With Pork BBQ Truffle and pork make sense because both are rich and aromatic. When you eat them together, it feels like the entire meal shifts into a more “chef-driven” direction. It’s heavy, but in a satisfying way — the kind you order when you want a meal to feel like a full event.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - Pig Company Korean BBQ in Myeongdong: A Traveller-Friendly Feast With Pork BBQ + Fried Chicken</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’re visiting Seoul and want the classic Korean BBQ experience without the stress of ordering (or the “tourist tax” feeling some areas can give off), Pig Company in Myeongdong is an easy win. It’s an all-you-can-eat setup built around pork cuts, cooked on a traditional cauldron lid grill, and the fun twist is that you can add soy-glazed boneless Korean fried chicken—in the same meal. I went in expecting a straightforward BBQ meal but left thinking, “Why don’t more places combine this much comfort food in one table?” You grill, you wrap, you snack on chicken between rounds, and you end the meal with cold noodles like a proper Korean BBQ finish. It’s the kind of place travellers can rely on when they’re hungry, indecisive, and don’t want to spend 20 minutes decoding a menu. I visited the Myeongdong Branch for my experience so this blog will be solely based off of my experience in the Myeongdong branch.</image:caption>

Run by chef Yoo Yong-wook, Imok is a smoke-driven fine dining restaurant in Seoul that translates barbecue techniques into a refined, carefully paced tasting menu. I recently visited Imok Smoke Dining, experienced the full course menu, and met the chef himself. <image:caption>If you’re looking for a pork-focused Korean BBQ restaurant in Apgujeong that prioritizes quality cuts over trends, Sangnoksoo Apgujeong is a place worth knowing. This is not a flashy, design-led BBQ spot—it’s a restaurant built around pork special cuts, particularly hwangjisal, grilled properly by staff who know exactly what they’re doing. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear why this place stays busy. The walls are covered with celebrity signatures, tables are constantly turning, and reservations are strongly recommended during dinner hours. People come here for one reason: well-executed pork BBQ that’s consistent and satisfying, not gimmicks.</image:caption>

Once inside, you immediately notice the wall of celebrity autographs. Actors, singers, comedians—this isn’t curated decor; it’s organic proof that this place has been consistently popular for years. It also explains why reservations are strongly recommended, especially during dinner hours. The atmosphere is lively but focused. People are here to eat, not to take endless photos.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Let’s talk about the dish that made this place famous. Visually, the pork belly rosé pasta looks exactly like it does online: Thick, neatly sliced pork belly Creamy, orange-pink rosé sauce Long pasta arranged cleanly on the plate Flavor-wise, it’s pleasant. The sauce is creamy without being overly heavy, and the pork belly adds richness and texture. However—and this is important—the dish was served not hot. It was somewhere between warm and room temperature. That significantly affected the experience. Cream-based pasta relies on heat to bring everything together. When served lukewarm, the sauce loses impact, and the pork belly doesn’t feel as indulgent as it should. If this dish were served properly hot, it would easily be much better.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The steak dishes were well plated and looked appealing. The meat was cooked to a decent doneness, and the sauce paired well. But again, the same issue appeared: the food arrived warm, not hot. This wasn’t a one-off issue with one plate—it seemed consistent across dishes. Nothing was cold enough to send back, but nothing was hot enough to feel freshly cooked. For a restaurant with this level of demand, that’s a noticeable flaw.</image:caption>

<image:caption>If you’re searching for a viral ramen place in Seoul, especially one that blends Japanese ramen with Chinese-style flavors, Jiyuken in Euljiro should already be on your radar. Let’s get the key points out early, because most people won’t read 2,000 words—and that’s fine: Why Jiyuken Euljiro is viral Japanese-Chinese (중화요리식) ramen, not standard tonkotsu Frequently featured on Instagram, TikTok, and Korean blogs Nostalgic, cluttered interior that photographs extremely well Consistently busy with locals and food-focused visitors Located in Euljiro (힙지로), Seoul’s trend-meets-old-school food district This is not a quiet hidden gem anymore. It’s a place people actively search for, line up for, and post about. Now let’s break down why it works so well.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The first thing that stood out to me wasn’t the food—it was the restroom amenities. Seeing Byredo Suede hand wash and hand lotion immediately sets the tone. Restaurants don’t choose Byredo casually. It’s a quiet signal: attention to detail matters here. That same philosophy carries into the dining space. The tables are heavy, solid, and uncluttered. The grill is built seamlessly into the table, not as a centerpiece but as a tool. Lighting is soft, warm, and flattering to both the food and the mood. Nothing feels performative, yet everything feels considered. This is Cheongdam luxury in its most restrained form.</image:caption>

The fat renders gradually, producing aroma rather than smoke. What stands out most is texture: Exterior lightly caramelized Interior soft, almost custard-like in richer cuts Clean beef flavor, not masked by sauce You’re encouraged to taste the meat simply first. <image:title>Restaurants - The Best All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ in Myeongdong: Why I Recommend Mongvely</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’re visiting Seoul, chances are your itinerary includes a stop in Myeongdong. Despite it being well-known as a tourist spot, there are still some good food spots that still remain. The neighborhood is one of the busiest in the city—packed with beauty stores, fashion brands, street food, and every type of Korean restaurant you can imagine. But among all of the dining options, one category dominates tourist searches: Korean BBQ. After trying several BBQ places around Seoul, I eventually found the one I now recommend to anyone asking for a reliable, high-quality, and tourist-friendly Korean BBQ experience in Myeongdong: Mongvely. It’s one of the rare spots that combines all-you-can-eat BBQ, good meat quality, and fast service. This blog shares my full experience, what you should expect, and why Mongvely became my top recommendation in Myeongdong.</image:caption>

<image:title>Restaurants - The Best All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ in Myeongdong: Why I Recommend Mongvely - Generous, Fresh Banchan</image:title>
<image:caption>The side dishes were surprisingly good for an AYCE restaurant. Many unlimited places reuse banchan or serve low-effort options, but Mongvely’s felt freshly prepared, especially the kimchi and fresh lettuce. Banchan items included: kimchi myeongi-leaves (myeonginamul) pickled radish ssam (lettuce, perilla leaves for wraps) sauces like ssamjang and sesame oil</image:caption>

<image:caption>AYCE Pricing That Makes Sense In Myeongdong, pricing often feels inflated due to the location. Mongvely’s prices are much more reasonable compared to: tourist-targeted BBQ restaurants buffet-style BBQ chains premium single-cut restaurants For the amount of food you get and the overall quality, the value is excellent. No Surprise Charges At some restaurants, side dishes, extra sauces, or refill items cost extra. Mongvely is straightforward: everything necessary for a proper BBQ meal is included</image:caption>

But one of the most unexpected places to buy Monchhichi in Seoul is actually Kyobo Bookstore Dongdaemun. Yes, a bookstore. <image:title>Shopping - DIY in Seoul: The Latest Korean Trend for Decorating Pens, Combs, and Mirrors</image:title>
<image:caption>If you have been in Korea recently and noticed people carrying extra-cute pens covered in beads, charms, glitter parts, and pastel details, that is the 볼꾸 (Ball-kku) trend. “볼꾸” is short for 볼펜 꾸미기, or in English, decorating pens. But the trend has already gone beyond just pens. Now people are also doing 빗꾸 (decorating combs), 거꾸 (decorating mirrors), 키링 꾸미기, and more. I recently tried it myself at MIMILINE Myeongdong, and it was one of those small Seoul activities that ends up being way more fun than expected. You walk in thinking you will make one simple pen, and then suddenly you are standing in front of rows and rows of charms, beads, pastel combs, mini mirrors, glitter pens, and cute parts trying to decide what kind of aesthetic you even have. If you are looking for a cute activity in Myeongdong, a budget-friendly DIY souvenir in Seoul, or just want to understand why this trend is everywhere right now, here is a full guide based on my experience.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - Giant Mickey in Seongsu: Gentle Monster Circuit Collection at Haus Nowhere Seoul</image:title>
<image:caption>Seoul is known for constantly reinventing the way people experience fashion, art, and retail. Few brands capture this better than Gentle Monster, famous not only for its avant-garde eyewear but also for transforming its stores into immersive art spaces. The launch of the 2026 Circuit Collection at Haus Nowhere Seoul is a perfect example of that philosophy. Located in Seoul’s trendy Seongsu district, the exhibition blends fashion, motorsport aesthetics, and pop culture through large-scale installations and interactive displays. The result is not just a place to shop for sunglasses but a full visual experience. During my visit, I explored the exhibition, saw the new eyewear pieces up close, and walked through the large art installations — including several striking sculptures inspired by racing culture and a futuristic version of Mickey Mouse. If you are interested in design, fashion, or unique Seoul exhibitions, this is one of the most interesting pop-ups to visit in the city right now.</image:caption>

<image:caption>One interactive feature of the exhibition is the themed photo booth. Visitors can take photos with digital filters inspired by the Circuit Collection. The machine prints a souvenir photo strip featuring graphics connected to the racing concept. Experiences like this are part of why Gentle Monster exhibitions attract so much attention. Instead of simply looking at products, visitors can actively participate in the environment.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - An Underrated Place to Buy Monchhichi in Korea: Artbox Korea</image:title>
<image:caption>When people search for Monchhichi in Korea, most assume they need to order them online or get really lucky to be able to spot them offline. Very few realize that one of the easiest and most underrated places to buy Monchhichi goods in Seoul is actually Artbox Korea. Artbox is known for stationery, lifestyle accessories, and character merchandise. It is everywhere — in shopping districts, near subway stations, inside malls — but rarely mentioned when people talk about where to buy Monchhichi in Seoul. And that’s exactly why it’s worth paying attention to. After visiting several Artbox branches in popular areas, a surprisingly wide range of Monchhichi and Bebichhichi goods were available. While full-sized Monchhichi dolls were limited in those busy locations, the selection of practical daily-use items was strong and well-stocked. The key insight? If you are specifically looking for Monchhichi dolls, try visiting less popular Artbox branches. High-traffic stores tend to sell out faster, but quieter neighborhoods may still carry hidden inventory. Here is a full guide to what you can find at Artbox Korea — and how each Monchhichi item can actually fit into everyday life.</image:caption>

Among these hidden gems is Discover Good Goods, a thoughtfully curated lifestyle shop that focuses on everyday objects designed well. It’s the kind of store where nothing feels random — every item seems intentionally chosen. Instead of large chains or mass-produced souvenirs, Discover Good Goods offers small design products, home items, and lifestyle goods that make daily life feel a little nicer. Small independent businesses dominate the streets, and many shops are run by designers, artists, or creative entrepreneurs. Visitors exploring the area often combine several activities: walking through Mangwon Market visiting neighborhood cafés browsing design stores strolling toward the Han River Discover Good Goods fits naturally into this kind of relaxed itinerary. You can easily spend an afternoon wandering through Mangwon, stopping at different cafés and shops along the way.</image:caption>

Between industrial buildings turned into concept stores and brands that know how to build atmosphere, it’s easily one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Seoul right now. This time, the stop was the Margesherwood showroom in Seongsu, specifically for the Margesherwood × PEANUTS collaboration — and it turned out to be more immersive than expected. From the exterior signage to the themed installation on the first floor, it didn’t feel like just another fashion drop. <image:caption>Before you even step inside HAUS NOWHERE, the architecture already does half the work. The exterior is curved, layered, metallic — almost sculptural. It doesn’t blend into Seongsu’s usual brick warehouse aesthetic. It dominates the street. From the outside, it feels industrial but futuristic. When the sunlight hits the surface, it looks like brushed metal wrapping around itself in waves. It’s honestly hard to ignore. This building alone has made HAUS NOWHERE one of the most photographed landmarks in Seongsu. And that’s intentional.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - AEAE Flagship Store Hongdae: Inside One of Seoul’s Most Popular Korean Streetwear Brands</image:title>
<image:caption>I wasn’t planning to spend much time inside AEAE in Hongdae, but the moment I stepped in, I understood why this Korean streetwear brand has such a strong following. Hongdae is packed with fashion stores. Some are loud and trend-chasing. Some feel temporary. AEAE felt different. It was calm, clean, and very sure of its identity. The space isn’t trying to overwhelm you. It lets you move slowly, look properly, and notice the details. If you’re exploring shopping in Hongdae and searching for Korean streetwear brands that locals actually wear, AEAE is worth walking into.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - AEAE Flagship Store Hongdae: Inside One of Seoul’s Most Popular Korean Streetwear Brands - First Impressions: A Clean, Focused Space in the Middle of Hongdae</image:title>
<image:caption>The AEAE flagship store in Hongdae has a white tiled exterior with a bold logo mounted above the entrance. It’s simple, almost understated compared to some of the louder storefronts in the area. That simplicity carries into the interior. Inside, the lighting is bright and neutral. The layout feels open. Wooden shelves line the walls, and clothing racks curve neatly along the space. Nothing feels chaotic. Nothing feels forced. It’s the kind of store where you can breathe. Hongdae is known for youth culture, university students, and trend-driven fashion, so it makes sense that AEAE’s flagship store is located here. The brand fits naturally into the area — casual, wearable, and logo-conscious without being flashy.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - AEAE Flagship Store Hongdae: Inside One of Seoul’s Most Popular Korean Streetwear Brands - AEAE x Cinnamoroll Collaboration</image:title>
<image:caption>Another detail that stood out to me was AEAE’s collaboration with Cinnamoroll. Cinnamoroll is a character created by Sanrio, widely loved in Korea. You’ll see Cinnamoroll merchandise everywhere, from stationery to cafes to fashion collaborations. Inside the AEAE flagship store, there were collaboration pieces like sweatshirts and drawstring bags. The designs felt subtle. They didn’t overpower the product. Instead, they blended streetwear branding with soft character culture. That mix makes sense in Korea. Sanrio collaborations often resonate strongly with young shoppers, and they add a collectible aspect to otherwise simple fashion pieces. What I appreciated was that the collaboration didn’t feel loud or gimmicky. The colorways were neutral — grey and navy — which kept the pieces wearable. For fans of Sanrio or anyone searching for AEAE Cinnamoroll collaboration items in Seoul, the Hongdae flagship is a good place to look.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Musinsa Daelim Changgo is a warehouse-style fashion retail space operated by Musinsa, one of Korea’s largest online fashion platforms. The word changgo literally means “warehouse,” and the name is accurate in both scale and atmosphere. The store occupies a large industrial building and carries a wide range of Musinsa-affiliated and distributed brands, including streetwear, casualwear, and seasonal collections. Unlike Musinsa Standard stores, Daelim Changgo focuses on volume and variety, often including past-season items, discounted products, and broad brand coverage. This is not a boutique experience. Racks are dense, the space is expansive, and the shopping style encourages browsing rather than curated storytelling. For visitors interested in seeing how Korean fashion retail operates at scale, Musinsa Daelim Changgo is one of the clearest examples in Seoul. Most well-known for : Their sneaker wall and expansive inventory of sneakers from a wide range of brands</image:caption>

<image:caption>FOGSY is a multi-brand fashion retailer, known for its large inventory and trend-focused assortment. Rather than positioning itself as a single designer brand, FOGSY operates more like a multi-style fashion outlet, offering clothing, accessories, and casual streetwear across different aesthetics. The shopping experience is fast and functional. Products are arranged for volume, not display, and prices are generally positioned to be accessible. FOGSY is popular with younger shoppers looking for trendy pieces without boutique pricing. It is not a concept store and does not emphasize storytelling or brand identity. The appeal lies in selection and immediacy. Most well-known for : Carrying trendy hot-girl brands such as AAKAM, ILLIGO, Hieta and more.</image:caption>

<image:caption>SILD Seongsu is a curated concept retail space, not a café and not a warehouse. The store functions as a multi-brand showroom and select shop, focusing on fashion, design, and lifestyle items presented in a minimal, gallery-like environment. Rather than carrying a wide inventory, SILD emphasizes selective curation. Brands and products are displayed with space and intention, often changing through pop-ups or seasonal rotations. The atmosphere is quiet and design-focused, aligning with Seongsu’s reputation for understated creativity. SILD is best approached as a place to explore design-driven fashion and objects, not to shop in volume. Most well-known for : Curated fashion and minimal aesthetics.</image:caption>

The space blends retail with exhibition-style presentation. Products are displayed sparsely, and the store often hosts brand pop-ups, limited releases, and seasonal showcases. Compared to Musinsa Daelim Changgo, EMPTY is intentionally restrained. Brands rotate frequently, and the focus is on design, silhouette, and concept, rather than price or volume. It is aimed at shoppers interested in fashion as culture, not just clothing. <image:caption>Walking into Olive Better by Olive Young, I immediately understood one thing: this is not trying to be another Olive Young with brighter lights and more products shoved into smaller shelves. This space is doing the opposite. It slows you down, tells you to breathe, and gently suggests that maybe your daily routine could be… better. Not more expensive. Not trendier. Just better. Located in a calm, glass-fronted building that feels intentionally separated from the chaos of regular shopping streets, Olive Better feels closer to a lifestyle gallery than a retail store. From the outside, the branding is clean and restrained. Inside, it becomes clear that this place isn’t about impulse buys. It’s about habits.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - Olive Better by Olive Young: A Slow, Thoughtful Take on Wellness in Seoul</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the first things I noticed was the floor guide. Instead of listing brands or departments, it clearly outlines how each floor supports a specific aspect of wellness. The lower levels focus heavily on Eat Well. This includes protein-focused products, wellness snacks, oils, vinegars, and small-batch food items that feel carefully curated rather than mass-produced. There’s even a dedicated “Protein Library,” which sounds slightly dramatic until you realize it’s actually useful. Everything is categorized clearly, making it easy to understand what each product is meant to support. Moving up, the focus expands into Nourish Well, Fit Well, and Relax Well. These areas include teas, coffees, supplements, aromatherapy items, oral care, and daily health products. The layout encourages slow browsing. Shelves are spaced generously, product information is easy to read, and nothing feels rushed. It’s retail designed for people who are tired of being overstimulated.</image:caption>

<image:caption>If you’re the type of person who loves fashion that feels clean, sharp, and slightly futuristic—but still wearable in real life—then you need to put OJOS on your Seoul shopping list. I recently stopped by OJOS in Myeongdong at Lotte Department Store, and it instantly reminded me why this brand has become my current obsession. The moment you walk in, everything feels intentional: the space, the styling, and the way the clothes are displayed like art pieces instead of “just items on a rack.” Even before you touch anything, you can already tell OJOS isn’t about loud logos or trendy prints. It’s about silhouette, structure, and detail—the kind of clothes that make you look like you stepped out of a fashion editorial, but you could still actually wear it on a normal day.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - COYSEIO (코이세이오) Hapjeong Flagship: A Must-Visit Concept Store Near Hongdae</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’re tired of the same shopping routine in Seoul—walk in, glance at the racks, walk out—COYSEIO’s Hapjeong flagship is the kind of place that resets your brain a little. I went in expecting a quick browse, but the space is designed to slow you down. It’s calm, visually satisfying, and feels more like a curated concept space than a typical clothing store. The vibe is clean and minimal, but still has personality—so you don’t get that “sterile showroom” feeling. <image:caption>The staircase is not just a staircase. Each step has its own design—patterns, colors, graphic elements—so walking upstairs feels like you’re moving through a mini installation. It’s playful without being childish, and creative without feeling messy. This was the moment where it stopped feeling like a normal shopping stop and started feeling like a place you’d remember later. It’s the kind of interior detail that makes you pause mid-step, take photos, and look back down just to appreciate it again. If you visit COYSEIO Hapjeong flagship, the staircase is honestly the “don’t miss” part.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The clothes here look exactly like something you’d see in a manga panel or on an anime character — cute, slightly whimsical, and styled in a way that feels like it belongs in a story. It’s not “basic Seoul shopping” at all. Every piece feels intentional, like it was made for someone who loves fashion that’s soft, playful, and a little dreamy without being over-the-top.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - HETRAS Myeongdong Review: The Perfume & Hand Cream Store You’ll Want to Visit in Seoul</image:title>
<image:caption>Myeongdong is already packed with skincare shops, makeup brands, and tourist favorites — but HETRAS Myeongdong felt different the moment I walked in. Instead of bright shelves and “sale” signs everywhere, it had this calm, gallery-like atmosphere where the main focus wasn’t “shopping fast”… it was smelling slowly. If you’re the type of person who loves hand cream, body wash, perfume, diffusers, and fabric sprays, HETRAS is one of those places that makes you want to take your time and actually enjoy the experience. It’s not just a store — it feels more like a fragrance space you stumbled into while walking through Myeongdong.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - BLACKPINK JISOO x Hello Kitty Popup in Seoul: My Visit to the Cutest “Exchange Diary” Collaboration</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’ve been anywhere near K-pop Twitter, Instagram Reels, or Seoul’s pop-up scene lately, you’ve probably heard of BLACKPINK’s JISOO x Hello Kitty pop-up. I visited the Hello Kitty x JISOO pop-up in Seoul, and it was exactly the type of limited-time collaboration that makes you feel like you stepped inside a real-life collectible universe. Think: soft pink walls, oversized diary pages, plush displays everywhere, and the kind of merch that makes you say “I don’t need it”… while already holding it in your hands. This blog post is a full recap of my experience — what it looked like inside, what merchandise I saw, what felt worth buying, and what sold out fast. If you’re planning to visit a similar pop-up event in Korea (or you just love Hello Kitty and JISOO), consider this your guide.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - Twelve at House of Shinsegae Cheongdam : Inside the Erewhon of Seoul</image:title>
<image:caption>The first thing most visitors notice—and the reason Twelve dominates short-form video platforms—is the smoothie bar. It is positioned prominently and designed to be visually arresting. Bottled smoothies are arranged in a long horizontal line above the counter, each color transitioning smoothly into the next: pale yellows, soft greens, vibrant oranges, muted pinks. The bottles are uniform, cleanly labeled, and unmistakably intentional. From a design perspective, this is not accidental. Everything about the smoothie bar encourages people to stop, look, and film. Even the wall behind the counter reinforces the branding with bold typography and wellness-focused messaging. Fruit such as bananas and pineapples are stacked in large quantities, not hidden away, reinforcing freshness and abundance. What stands out is not just that smoothies are sold, but how they are presented. Each bottle is clearly labeled, giving the impression of transparency and control. Whether or not you choose to buy one, the smoothie bar functions as a visual anchor for the entire Twelve experience. It sets the tone: modern, health-oriented, and highly curated. This is also where comparisons to Erewhon begin. Like Erewhon’s smoothie counters in Los Angeles, Twelve’s smoothie bar positions wellness drinks as a lifestyle product rather than a quick takeaway. The emphasis is on appearance, branding, and perceived quality, not speed.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - Musinsa Daelim Changgo Seongsu: A One-Stop Shopping Destination for Korean Fashion Lovers</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’re visiting Seoul and want to go beyond cosmetics and souvenirs, there’s one place that makes sense to put at the top of your list: Musinsa Store Seongsu @ Daelim Changgo. This is not just another fashion store. It’s a one-stop shopping destination where sneakers, caps, and clothing are laid out on a scale that’s hard to find elsewhere in Seoul. For tourists who want to understand Korean streetwear in one visit—without bouncing between ten different shops—Musinsa Daelim Changgo delivers exactly that. Before getting into details, here’s the short version for skimmers: Massive warehouse-style fashion store in Seongsu Huge wall of sneakers you can compare side by side Endless rows of caps and hats, neatly categorized Clean, organized clothing racks by category and brand Ideal for tourists who want efficient, stress-free shopping Now let’s break down why this place works so well—and why it’s worth traveling out of the usual tourist areas.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - Musinsa Daelim Changgo Seongsu: A One-Stop Shopping Destination for Korean Fashion Lovers</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the most photographed sections of Musinsa Daelim Changgo is the wall of sneakers—and for good reason. Rather than locking shoes behind glass or scattering them across the store, Musinsa displays them in long, continuous rows. This makes it easy to: Compare shapes and silhouettes See colorways side by side Understand trends at a glance For tourists unfamiliar with Korean streetwear brands, this setup is incredibly helpful. You don’t need to know what you’re looking for beforehand. You can visually scan, shortlist, and then dive deeper. It’s also practical: Clear labeling Easy access to try-on sizes Logical grouping by style and brand Whether you’re a sneaker enthusiast or just looking for one solid pair to bring home, this section alone justifies the visit.</image:caption>

Caps are displayed in long, clean rows: Baseball caps Logo caps Minimal designs Seasonal styles Instead of digging through piles, everything is front-facing and neatly arranged, making it easy to browse even if you’re not sure what suits you. Caps are also one of the easiest fashion items for tourists to buy: No sizing stress Easy to pack Wearable immediately Musinsa clearly understands this and treats the section accordingly, giving it space and visibility rather than relegating it to a corner.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - BORNTOSTANDOUT Hannam Flagship: Seoul’s Most Provocative Niche Fragrance Space</image:title>
<image:caption>If you are tired of polite perfumes, safe branding, and stores that all look the same, BORNTOSTANDOUT in Hannam-dong is not trying to win you over. It’s daring you to react. Located in one of Seoul’s most design-forward neighborhoods, the Hannam flagship is not just a perfume store. It’s an attitude, a manifesto, and a physical extension of what the brand stands for: anti-normcore, anti-polite, anti-forgettable. You don’t casually browse here. You experience it. This guide focuses first on what most people want to know quickly—what the brand is about, what kind of scents they make, and why the Hannam flagship is different—then goes deeper into the space, the visuals, and why this place has become a must-visit for fragrance lovers, creatives, and travelers in Seoul.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Most BORNTOSTANDOUT perfumes fall into one or more of these categories: Gourmand with a twist (sweet, edible notes turned unsettling) Alcoholic & addictive accords Dirty florals Smoky, resinous bases Animalic or skin-like notes These are scents designed to linger, evolve, and sometimes make people uncomfortable.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - BORNTOSTANDOUT Hannam Flagship: Seoul’s Most Provocative Niche Fragrance Space - Ceramics, Objects, and Art Pieces</image:title>
<image:caption>One unexpected highlight of the flagship is its ceramic objects and lifestyle items. Plates, cups, sculptural pieces, and trays carry the same graphic language as the perfumes. They blur the line between merchandise and art. This reinforces the idea that BORNTOSTANDOUT is not just a fragrance brand—it’s a cultural aesthetic.</image:caption>

<image:caption>And yet, Mimiline Myeongdong still manages to catch you off guard. Not because it’s quiet or minimalist or carefully curated. It’s the opposite. Mimiline is chaotic. It’s dense. It’s visually overwhelming in the most addictive way. You walk in thinking you’ll glance around for a minute, and suddenly you’ve been there far longer than planned, holding several things you absolutely did not intend to buy. In many ways, Mimiline feels like the Don Quijote of accessories—not in size, but in spirit. It has that same “everything is here, all at once” energy that turns shopping into exploration rather than intention.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - Where to buy Monchhichi in Seoul, Korea? Look Here! - Why Kary Market Sinsa Is Monchhichi Heaven</image:title>
<image:caption>Kary Market (캐리마켓) is a multi-brand store focused on kids fashion, toys, lifestyle goods and character items. The Sinsa branch in particular often hosts character pop-ups and curated events under the name “Karyland,” where brands like Monchhichi, Sanrio, Miffy, Loopy, Purgle and more appear together. A few reasons Monchhichi fans should prioritize this spot: Official Monchhichi Partner : Kary Market is an official partner for Monchhichi in Korea, sourcing dolls through the official importer. If you care about authenticity, Kary Market is a safe bet. Huge Character Mix in One Place : Even if you visit mainly for Monchhichi, you’ll probably leave with more. Recent pop-ups have featured Sanrio, Miffy, Loopy, Purgle and other Instagram-famous characters in one zone. Exclusive Pop-Ups and Limited Items : Kary Market Sinsa has hosted multiple Monchhichi exclusive pop-ups, with limited-edition colors, special accessories and seasonal items. Even outside official pop-up dates, the Sinsa branch tends to keep a larger Monchhichi selection than many other places.</image:caption>

<image:title>Shopping - Where to buy Monchhichi in Seoul, Korea? Look Here! - What to Expect Inside Kary Market :</image:title>
<image:caption>Monchhichi Selection Depending on the timing of your trip, you may see: Classic Monchhichi dolls in different sizes Seasonal outfits (winter coats, animal costumes, themed accessories) Special color versions and “happy color” editions that are often promoted first at Sinsa, sometimes as limited runs or sequential restocks over a few weeks. Bag charms, keychains, and mini Monchhichi versions popular for decorating backpacks or crossbody bags. Because Monchhichi drops are often limited, stock can change quickly. If you’re visiting specifically for a certain series you saw on social media, go earlier in your trip rather than leaving it to the last day. Other Character Goods Even if your main mission is Monchhichi, expect to be distracted: Sanrio items (Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, etc.) Miffy, Loopy, Purgle, and other trending characters Cute stationery, cushions, bags and accessories grouped into themed zones (under labels like “Karyland” during special pop-ups). It feels more like a curated “character experience space” than just a toy shelf inside a department store. Overall Vibe Kary Market Sinsa is designed as a kids & family lifestyle flagship, but plenty of adults visit just for character goods and photo spots. Inside, you can expect: Bright displays and character corners perfect for selfies A mixture of fashion, toys and lifestyle items Occasional workshops and “class” events on weekends (check their website or Instagram if you’re curious)</image:caption>

<image:title>Experiences - Petra Collins “Fangirl” Exhibition in Seoul: A 4-Floor Immersive Dive Into Girlhood</image:title>
<image:caption>If you’re searching for one of the most talked-about art exhibitions in Seoul right now, the Petra Collins exhibition should be at the top of your list. Known for her dreamy, soft-focus aesthetic and emotionally charged exploration of girlhood, Petra Collins brings her world to Seoul in a four-floor immersive exhibition divided into distinct sections: Gift Shop & Entrance, Becoming Petra, The Gaze, and New Nostalgia. This isn’t just a photography show. It’s a psychological walk through femininity, memory, obsession, and identity. Whether you’re an art lover, a fan of contemporary photography, or simply looking for unique things to do in Seoul, this exhibition delivers something deeper than just Instagram photos.</image:caption>

<image:title>Experiences - Petra Collins “Fangirl” Exhibition in Seoul: A 4-Floor Immersive Dive Into Girlhood</image:title>
<image:caption>The third floor, “The Gaze,” is arguably one of the strongest sections of the exhibition. This is where the tension becomes undeniable. Portraits line the walls — faces illuminated in dramatic, saturated tones. Red, blue, green. Each subject appears introspective, distant, almost emotionally suspended. The neon “24HR PSYCHO” sign dominates the space, bathing the room in electric blue light. It feels darker. More confrontational. The concept of “the gaze” in art often refers to who holds power in looking — who is watching, and who is being watched. Petra Collins plays with this idea in a deeply feminine context. Her subjects are not passive. They look back.</image:caption>

<image:title>Experiences - Petra Collins “Fangirl” Exhibition in Seoul: A 4-Floor Immersive Dive Into Girlhood</image:title>
<image:caption>In one of the most striking photographs — “Don’t help me” — a young woman stands in a bathroom mirror wearing a white bodysuit and pink tights. The lighting is harsh. The setting intimate. Bathrooms are private and vulnerable spaces, yet the image doesn’t feel helpless. The title complicates everything. “Don’t help me” feels defensive, self-protective, independent. There’s softness in the pose, but strength in the refusal. This floor captures the emotional complexity of girlhood — wanting to be seen but not rescued. Being vulnerable but not weak. The atmosphere is cinematic, slightly uncomfortable, and emotionally layered.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The cooking process is part of the appeal. The vendor pours thick chocolate batter into the fish-shaped mold. Before it sets, generous scoops of pistachio filling and toppings are added. Then more batter seals it shut before the iron presses close. When opened, the result is a plump, overfilled fish-shaped pastry that looks slightly overstuffed — intentionally so. Unlike traditional thin bungeoppang, this one is thicker, heavier, and softer in the center. It leans more toward cookie texture than waffle crispness.</image:caption>

<image:title>Experiences - Where to Visit in Seoul This Fall: Discover Seochon and Samcheong-dong’s Autumn Magic - Seoul’s Most Beautiful Season</image:title>
<image:caption>There’s something truly special about autumn in Seoul. The heat of summer fades, the sky turns bright blue, and the city bursts into shades of gold, red, and orange. The air feels crisp, the parks glow with color, and even the smallest alleys become picture-perfect. While there are many places to visit in Seoul during fall — from Namsan Tower to Hangang Park — two areas stand out for their quiet charm and rich history: Seochon and Samcheong-dong. Both neighborhoods sit near Gyeongbokgung Palace, and both capture a side of Seoul that feels timeless. If you’re looking for a day full of photo-worthy streets, cozy cafés, and beautiful autumn walks, Seochon and Samcheong-dong are where you’ll find the heart of Seoul’s fall season.</image:caption>

<image:title>Experiences - Where to Visit in Seoul This Fall: Discover Seochon and Samcheong-dong’s Autumn Magic - Why Seochon Is a Perfect Photo Spot</image:title>
<image:caption>Fall light in Seochon is soft and golden, making even a simple wall or window photograph beautifully. You’ll find textures everywhere — weathered wood, hanok roofs, dried persimmons hanging from balconies, and the glow of yellow ginkgo leaves. Photographers love this area because it’s not overrun with people. The narrow alleys and warm light create a natural frame for portraits or travel photography. Morning and late afternoon are the best times to shoot — when sunlight filters gently through the trees and the rooftops shimmer in amber tones.</image:caption>
