SK Wyverns
The SK Wyverns are the Seoul baseball team that isn't the Seoul baseball team. They are actually based in Incheon, the city just west of Seoul that is better known for being the home of Incheon International Airport. Even though they are located in Incheon, they are still close enough to Seoul to attract many fans living in Seoul.
The Scouting Report
The SK Wyverns have seen better days (as of late 2015). They haven't been contenders for the past few years. Despite the lack of a winning product on the field, watching them play at Munhak Stadium in Incheon is still a safe bet.
Just like many of the other Korean Baseball Organization teams, the SK Wyverns have a passionate fan base. Attending an SK Wyverns game is unlike any experience as a spectator at a Major League game back in America.
The Home Field
THe SK Wyverns play in Munhak Baseball Stadium. It is part of a larger sports complex known as Munhak Sports Complex in Incheon. The stadium isn't new, but it isn't falling apart either. It is a rather enjoyable place to watch a game.
There are several ways to enjoy a game as a spectator at the stadium. Enjoy grilling your own BBQ while sitting at a table with a grill just beyond the right field wall. Or, spread out a blanket and picnic on the gently sloping lawn beyond left field. Of course, enjoy the game in a more traditional way by sitting in seats surrounding the infield.
How To Get There
Where: Incheon-si, Nam-gu, Munhak-dong
