Let's face it, as popular as Busan's Haeundae Beach is, the crowds there during the summer make a day at the beach unbearable. Fortunately, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) teamed with the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation to select and recommend 20 beaches around Korea that provide a more relaxing experience.

Close To Seoul

Most of the beaches recommended in the article are found on the west coast in Gangwon-do. However, Dongmak Beach can be found on Ganghwa Island, which is merely an hour away from most of Seoul.

Take A Boat There

Fancy a boat ride to the beach? Why not check out Seopori Beach on Deokjeokdo? An express ferry from Incheon Domestic Ferry Terminal will get you there in a little over an hour. A slow boat will take 3 hours.

Hyeopjae Beach and Gwakji Gwamul Beach, both on Jeju, also make the list...but you're probably going to be taking a plane to get there...not a boat.
