No one will ever tell you the Han River west of Seoul is pristine fishing water. You won't read that kind of description here, either. The best thing that can be said is that you can fish in this part of the Han River. Also, it is rather convenient for those living in Seoul.
If you live in Seoul or just west of Seoul, and you have a huge fishing itch that needs to be scratched, head to the Han River. You won't find great fishing, but you will find water and a relative sense of being removed from the big city.
This isn't an official fishing spot. It isn't maintained by anyone and you don't have to pay to use it. It is just a spot on the Han River that has open access.
The upside of fishing here is that it is very close to Seoul. It is easy to get to. The downside of fishing here is that it is a bit far from any form of public transportation. It takes a little work to get here.
Where: Goyang-si, Deokyang-gu, Daedeok-dong
The various fishing holes in this part of the Han River are best reached by foot or on bicycle. From Nanji Han River Park, follow the well-marked walking path to the west. Make sure you leave the city limits before finding a spot along the Han River to fish. The city boundary is marked by a small sign right after the first and only bridge you will have to cross. Once you come to a soccer field, feel free to venture off the concrete path and bushwhack your way to the shores of the Han River. Find a suitable place to set up and enjoy your day.
