Ilsan Bowling Alley (Ilsan)
Bowling

Too many bowling alleys these days throw too many gimmicks at you: strobe lights, thumping house music, etc. It is quite refreshing then, when you can go to a place like Ilsan Bowling Alley and enjoy bowling in all its purity. Nothing but a well-lit, well-greased lane with the noise of crashing pins in the background. Pure bliss.

The Scouting Report

Throwback. That is the best word that can be used to describe Ilsan Bowling Alley. There is no obnoxious loud house music. There is no gimmicky blacklight-strobelight bowling hour. There is no tomfoolery here. This is a bowling alley for people who actually want to bowl.

The 1-3 Pocket Rolls

  • Cheap. At least as cheap as you are likely to find in Korea.
  • Great unlimited bowling deals during the day.
  • Cozy. It's not a large bowling alley.
  • Is coziness really a positive thing?

The Gutter Balls

  • Cozy. It's not a large bowling alley.
  • Is coziness really a negative thing?
  • It's on the 9th floor. That means you either gotta climb a lot of stairs or wait for elevators on a busy day.
  • As you can see, there aren't a lot of negatives here. Especially if you are someone who actually enjoys bowling for the sake of bowling.

How To Get There

Where: Gyeonggi-do, Goyang-si, Ilsan-gu, Baekseok-dong

From Line 3 - Baekseok Station (백석역):
-Walk straight out of exit 5 for 300 meters. Look for a bowling pin outside a building on your right. The bowling alley is on the 9th floor.
-If you get to a park, you've gone too far. Turn around. Or keep walking to the next bowling alley almost 900 meters straight ahead.
