2015 Presidents Cup

By Honnie

This October, golfers from all over the globe will gather in Incheon, South Korea for the 2015 Presidents Cup, the first time the popular tournament will be played in Asia.

Korea has done a great job of landing big-time international sporting events. Add a prestigious golf tournament to that list. Some of the best players from around the world will compete for 4 days (Thursday, October 8 - Sunday, October 11) at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Songdo, a newly built international business district about an hour west of Seoul.

What is the Presidents Cup?

The Presidents Cup is a series of golf matches between a team of Americans against a team representing the rest of the world sans Europe. It is played every other year and often attracts many of the biggest names in golf. Team USA, having won in 2013, are the defending champions. The international team is looking forward to taking advantage of having "home course" advantage and getting a win.

The Presidents Cup features a variety of matches between the two teams---fourball, foursomes, and singles matches.

Where Is It? How Do I Get There?

The 2015 Presidents Cup is being hosted by the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club, Korea.

It is a brand new golf course in Songdo IBD, Incheon City, South Korea.

Jack Nicklaus GC is extremely easy to get to via public transportation. Take Incheon Line 1 to Incheon National University. Walk straight out of exit 2. The course will be on your right after about 800 meters.

For international travelers coming in, the golf course is about 10 minutes away Incheon International Airport. That's pretty much a hole-in-one!
