Whether you are dropping by after checking out the Seodaemun Prison History Hall or are getting ready to hike Ansan or Inwangsan, Seodaemun Independence Park serves its purpose well. It isn't there to awe you. It doesn't try to be too fancy. It is there to make you comfortable. And part of that is in providing you a way to quench your competitive thirst....through badminton.
If you come here to play badminton, you will find 2 courts waiting for you. They are typical badminton courts surrounded by slightly above average scenery.
Gravel and dirt. Good grip.
As mentioned earlier, the courts are very close to Seodaemun Prison History Hall. It is a great place to check out and learn a little bit about Korea's recent history. It was a prison used by colonial Japan to house revolutionary Koreans. There is a lot of history here.

From Line 3 - Dongnimmun Station Station (독립문역):
-Come out of exit 5 and you will find yourself in the park area. If you look at the map, you will find that the courts are located in the rest area behind the parking lot.
