Danggogae Park
당고개 공원
In many urban centers, when a new stadium is built, a certain pattern follows: the old stadium gets used less and less. Pretty soon, it falls into a state of disrepair. This analogy applies to Danggogae Park's badminton courts. Three of the badminton courts have received an upgrade (a new surface). Unfortunately, the rest have fallen into that state of disrepair.
There are a few different badminton courts to choose from at Danggogae Park. Some are in good condition. Some are in bad condition. Choose wisely.
Three of the courts have a type of artificial turf. It is most similar to the surface you would find at a miniature golf course. It's fuzzy and relatively thin. Regardless, it is preferable to the standard dirt surfaces that are ubiquitous in Seoul.
The other courts have typical dirt surfaces.
Some courts are dirt.
Some courts are turf.

Many of the rock climbers bring their own tents and mats and cook up a post-climb meal. Consider doing the same for your badminton sessions.
There are also plenty of restaurant options close to the park. If you're in the mood and the time of day is right, head to Nowon Station to enjoy the area's lively nightlife.
